Currently Scrmbld supports GAN and Xiaomi smart cubes via Bluetooth. More brands (MoYu, QiYi, GoCube, Rubik's Connected) are planned for future updates.
No. You can use any standard 3x3 Rubik's cube. Enter your cube's state by scanning it with your camera or manually painting the stickers. The timer works without any Bluetooth connection.
Yes. Scrmbld is free with optional ads. There is no paywall and no account required. A premium tier with additional features may be offered in the future.
Scrmbld generates random-state scrambles using the Kociemba algorithm - the same mathematical approach used by TNoodle (the WCA's official scrambler). However, our scrambles are not WCA-certified and should not be used for official competitions.
When enabled, the 15-second inspection follows WCA penalty rules: a +2 second penalty is applied if you start solving after 15 seconds, and the solve is marked as DNF (Did Not Finish) after 17 seconds. This can be toggled in Profile settings.
Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your device. Ensure your cube is charged and not connected to another app. Try forgetting the cube in your phone's Bluetooth settings and reconnecting through Scrmbld. If issues persist, submit a bug report from the app.
Yes. When calibrating, choose "Scrambled" and manually paint your cube's current state using the 3D color picker. The app will compute the correct mapping from there.
